The kids and I had a great evening -- no packing, no cleaning, no organizing. We simply baked. A lot. We churned out a triple batch of Rice Krispie treats, to be exact, and then a double recipe of Christine's gateau au chocolat. We made batter enough to fill up 100 itty-bitty cupcake wrappers and had enough left for a whole tarte-sized cake.
Hopefully it will be enough to feed all of the preschoolers at the girls' school in the morning tomorrow, and all of the seven and eight year olds at Jack's school in the afternoon. Hopefully they'll like the Rice Krispie treats since we have a LOT of them. As they stirred the sticky stuff, the kids debated whether any French children had ever even had the delight of eating one -- a mix of crisp rice cereal, butter, and marshmallows, for any French readers who might be wondering what on earth I am talking about. They were pretty sure all of the children would love it. On verra!
And now -- off to tackle the rest of the dishes.

Hi! That looks soooo good. Can I have the recipe for those cupcakes??? And we'll be thinking about you this week. I am sure the rest of your adventure will be as wonderful and great as it has been so far!
