Our French village in the news!

Geraldine let me know that tiny Villers-la-Faye would be featured on a France 3 television program tonight, with a feature on the a tree-planting program the students in the equivalent of grades 5 and 6 are doing... and you can watch it right here!

France 3: Ca manque pas d`air

John and I just watched the clip, and while we missed out on much of the French (we only found out by reading the description after the fact that they were planting the trees in a former landfill), we delighted in seeing such good news from our former small village and all of the familiar faces. You can see Geraldine on the far left of the screen, wearing a white tank top and a scarf, and her daughter Jeanne during the tree-planting footage in a blue-green tank top, and Katie`s big friend Laurie whom she looked up to so much, planting trees in a ball cap. There was the nice man who picked his daughter up from the preschool at the same time we did (and with whom we walked the parade route the day they burned away the straw man of winter), and the handsome mayor, and so many of the children who welcomed us with a warm Bonjour Madame, Monsieur when we`d drop Jack at his bus stop.

The only trouble... I miss it all again! Sigh...but hooray to Villers-la-Faye!
